MY DAYS WITH MUMBAI
The first day a big pain full day when I came to mumbai, by bus from pune to attend my TISS(tata institute of social sciences) Interview. I asked the bus driver to stop near the chembur railway station, which I actually not aware of anything about mumabi. I got down the bus where actually had no idea where I am, it was all confusion where to go, the traffic is so high on the high way and the time was about 10.00 pm. now the question come to my mind were to stay for the night , my interview was scheduled tomorrow I.e. 24/03/2009. 10.30 Am. I asked a guy the route to chembur railway station, he replied in marati , I can’t get what he said , the bag I am carrying was a big problem , it is more than 25 kg , it is really aching my hand to lift it , I am in confusion to go by auto or by walk , I have no idea , the route or anything , as I am not dare enough to go by auto as they may cheat me because I am very new guy, so I decided to go by walk, buy asking here and there I walked more than 6 Km with heavy bag , when I saw the chembur market , I felt I am somewhere in festival , this was my first experience with mumbai crowd .( actually it was the day before ugadi (in telugu) festival , so the market was to much crowded) there is no space to walk with my heavy bag , in the meanwhile I want to search chembur station as a land mark and lodge to stay for night , I went to a lodge with a difficulty and enquired in the reception about the tariff for one day stay , it was 1500 for 24 hrs , it was not my budget, I returned back , with heavy difficulty may body is serious exhausting and wanted to rest even on the road, I asked the security where can get a lodge with low price , he said go straight for 1 Km you will get one High way lodge which only lodge in chembur which is cheaper , I again started walking with difficulty , wit so much difficulty i saw chembur railway stain and the chembur high way bridge and the nearby lodge is high way lodge , I went in to the lodge , to my fate there is no room , they sad you can’t get the room , for the night , seriously I don’t know what to do after hearing that , I sad the old man in the counter , I can’t go anywhere I don’t know anything in mumbai, I will wait in the reception , he dint reply anything , I was standing for more than 15 mints he was happily seeing cricket match , I thought god was really playing football match with me in mumbai, after 30 mints . a boy attainder came to reception saying a person was checking out the room , I felt so happy that I will definitely get it , but to my fate , I should still wait for 1 more hour , because the person was fully drunken he is not coming out of the room , I prayed the god please stop playing with me . At last the person checked out andI got the room by 11.30 pm , I settled down on the bed with lots hungry . Still to be continued. Bye yours loving SAI CHARAN KUMAR PAKALA
